Hi! My name’s Elise and I’m the brains (and stomach!) behind the BARE. operation. I’m so glad you found your way here and hope you enjoy your visit. I’m a student, a massive (massive.)  foodie, and fructose intolerant.

I also have a sensitive gut. Sadly, the world of abundance we live in often leads to excess rather than adequate support of our immune and digestive systems. Many of us suffer from digestive disorders, whether they be occasional or persistent.

Almost two years ago, I was put on a heavy dose of antibiotics for cystitis. My gut was severly damaged, and I’ve been on a journey to repopulate my bacteria since then. I’ve tried it all, failed a lot, but feel more in control of my health than ever.

Health is a journey, not a destination. I no longer curse or hate my body for giving me trouble. And yours isn’t fighting you, either. It is speaking a language we struggle to understand. Through my daily experiences, I want to share what I have learned and how I have come to accept the fragility of my body. And, most importantly, the power of my mind.

I’m a firm believer in the mind-gut connection; your gut has a mind of its own! We could all use some help in harnessing that connection, and making better use of it.  This is why the BARE. Lifestyle isn’t only about what you do in the kitchen, but also about how you connect to your food.

I am collaborating with the wonderful & super talented Kate from Nutrition Yorkshire to answer questions and explore many other exciting food-related topics.

Sticking around? Awesome. 🌟
